Le Cinque Terre
Cinque Terre (Çinque Tære in ligurian dialect) are a jagged piece of coast in the east Riviera Ligure (riviera spezzina), they are located in the Provincia of La Spezia between Punta Mesco and Punta di Montenero, here you can find these 5 little villages, or as they were called formerly Lands (terre), and they are from west to east: Monterosso al Mare, Vernazza, Corniglia, Manarola, Riomaggiore.
They are a UNESCO world heritage, and that’s why: “the east Ligurian coast of Cinque Terre is a land full of amazing value which represents the perfect mix between man and nature in order to make up a high quality landscape, and it represents a traditional way of life started thousand years ago, and it keeps being present nowadays, playing a socioeconomic position in our society life”.
Cinque terre are considered one of the most evocative coastal sightseeings in Italy thanks to geography and human settlements.
This place is surrounded by rugged and winding high hills, but terracings spread out all over the hills making them graceful, thanks to their steep slopes which dive into the water; in the conjunction between the sea and the hills, 5 little villages rise up perfectly matching the natural shape of the coast.
